Portuguese.
I had this book, but I never read it. It looks exactly like it, that was cool. It's the Brazilian edition from Editora Record.
Portuguese, just like the guys in that Arctic station! Naomi is definitely working for Penny, that is for sure! I can't wait to see what she has to say! Let's hope she doesn't have convenient amnesia...
I'd say she's sent by Penny, and was carrying the photo of she and Desmond for reference.
Wouldn't Desmond wonder why Penny was carrying a Portuguese book? He says he's sure it's her.
Ok, this is not that complicated. The parachutist is likely portuguese and she was sent to look for Desmond and that was the only picture that she had of him. So that was her bookmark for the book she was reading on the on the incredibly long flight she took to the island
isnt odd that the book catch 22 is about a airman in the airforce, that catch 22 is a term describing an event that when you think everything is going as planned something can jump up and mess it all up like the chopper flight, and it looks like shes military.
Catch-22 is a sort of senseless, cruel, and idiotic unspoken rule - that you have to be insane to fly a bombing mission, which means that you should be grounded (not allowed to fly a mission), but if you don't want to fly, that clearly proves that you are sane and must fly the missions.
É português mesmo, gente. O livro é Ardil 22 da editora record, uma editora do Brasil.
IS portuguese really. The book is Catch-22, of Brazil's edition.
Just one quick note, that book is the
brazilian version of Catch 22, and we can read there "more then...4 units...sold in the US"
and by the way that girl and the guys
from the season 2 final are brazilian
and not portuguese.
bye
But don't Brazilian people speak Portuguese, as opposed to Spanish?
Brazilian people speak portuguese as opposed to spanish. But the language in brazil is a little different of portugal's language, like a english of USA and english of U.K..
Sorry may english.
Ricardo.
I think it's been pretty well established that the two guys in the Antarctic Listening Station were Brazilians, hasn't it?
i heard that the book in desmond's flash was in english and the one he found was obviously in portuguese. is this a clue?
Absolutely, brothers!
It is absolutely established that the guys in the Antartic Listening Station were Brazilian. You can notice that from their accent.
This maybe stupid but, how does she have a copy of the photo that desmond has? Did the photographer gave them 2 copyes? Did he gave them the negative?
Just a thought.
TPTB confirmed in the latest podcast that there were 2 pics, so Penny must have given her copy to Naomi.
Major themes of the book Catch-22:
Sanity and Insanity
Heroes and Heroism
Absurdity
Power of Bureaucracy
Loss of Religious Faith
Impotence of Language
Inevitability of Death
Distortion of Justice
Concept of Catch-22
Greed
Personal Integrity
LOST has all of these themes.
Yeah, steve32100, you're right, thanks for pointing this out.
I don't think that Naomi and Penny know each other. The season finale pointed this out, unless Penny was just lying to Charlie about not knowing who Naomi was.
