I wish we could get a better visual. It would be cool to verify all the fan made maps of the island out there and see how accurate they are....
And compare them to Shambala perhaps? http://www.koh-
chang.com/Bai_ Kood_Shambala/ image/map1_ big.jpg That's the song that was playing on the van radio when it started up and what Hurley had on his MP3 in season 1. (By 3 Dog Night) It's meant to be an island of mystery.
Wikipedia says In Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Shambhala (also spelled Shambala or
Shamballa) is a mystical kingdom hidden somewhere beyond the snowpeaks
of the Himalayas. It is mentioned in various ancient texts, including
the Kalachakra Tantra and the ancient texts of the Zhang Zhung culture
which pre-dated Tibetan Buddhism in western Tibet. The Bön scriptures
speak of a closely-related land called Olmolungring. "
based on sayid calling the barracks in "the valley" and looking back at the screen cap of the bus's potential road map, I think it is clear now that the road to be built was going to "othersvile"/barracks, and that they are indeed the valley we saw in season3-epi1
the important questions to me now are, what are the ramifications of blowing up the flame and how much of patchy's story was factual.
there is something very disgusting about a man with long finger nails!!!
If you think his nails are long, you must spend a lot of time around nervous (nail biting) men. His nails are quite proportional to the size of his fingers.
I don't think the Flame station had much value to the others. If it were their only hope of outside communications, then why weren't there more than two people guarding it? Doesn't make sense, unless it cannot be fixed because of the hatch explosion. Then it doesn't really matter if Locke blows it up, its useless to them.
I wondered who would bring up the nails. Andrews is a guitar player, therefore keeps his nails on the long side.
It looks like the picture on the bottom has the security-posts on it. There is a blurry ring of dots. But that ring of dots seems to go around an area of interest outside of the barracks. The barracks on this map look to be west of the dots in the darker grey square. INTERESTING!
Note the letter "B" in a circle, compare it to the "C" on the Swan map. They are obviously Map Key designations.
Note letter A in box at top and C in box on lower right. This would indicate where wires are going.

nasty nails :-O~
I agree, I know they're stranded on a desert island and all but there's no reason not to clean your nails. After all, Kate and Claire never forget to put on mascara!
