Any shots of Jack's island back to confirm this is a new tat?
Is this JACK'S tattoo, or Matthew Fox's tattoo?
I swear I saw a tattoo under his left arm as well. I caught a glimpse of it on island and off island. It looked like they tried to cover it up as best they could. Oh well, at least it's safe to say there won't be another "Stranger in a Strange Land" to explain it.
I didn't see it on Lostpedia. There was an edit to the Lostpedia page today saying that he has a back tattoo, but there aren't any pictures of it.

The symbol in between the letters... it makes all sense now! Jack is a robot, a Transformer, a Decepticon! :D

No one else has noticed the mirror image? The R and S are not backwards in the mirror and they should be. Any ideas what that means? Or could it mean nothing and just be a mistake somehow?
K+8=Kate is what others have said. Not sure about the symbol, could be a variation on a heart and arrowhead perhaps

dean, if you click on the picture, it will show up larger. It looks like an RS to me. But the mirror image is all wonky. And I can't believe I am the only one who has noticed that. :o)

The R and the S should be backwards in the mirror image. They are not. It doesn't even look like the same tattoo.
This tat isn't new at all, you can actually see it in the pilot episode if you look closely enough. I think it's actually MFs oldest tat as well. You can see it in that little student film he did.
there's nothing different with the mirror tattoo..just take any picture program and flip the pic...both tattoos are the same!!
Well, in the non-mirror tattoo, look at the R and see that the curved side is closer to the arrow-looking bit. In the mirror image, the part of the R with the up and down line is closer. It doesn't even look like the same "font", if you will. The R is not backwards in the mirror, as it should be if it is a mirror image. The S is a little harder to tell on my screen.
Are you kidding me??? You guys, it's definitely reversed. It's the exact same font. It's just in a mirror.
